Gender bias begins in Primary School, including girls perceptions around their future in a STEM career. If we, as a country, are going to equip our children (of both sexes) for the future, then engagement in STEM across the curriculum is needed.

Why is encouraging girls in STEM so important to Australia?

The future of our economy relies greatly on people with STEM skills. Despite the fact that there is no reason why girls are weaker in STEM than boys, Australia haemorrhages female talent in STEM disciplines from as early as primary school. This means that we are not drawing on 100% of our talent pool in STEM careers, and our economy will suffer from the lack of diversity.

Why drones?

There are so many different applications within the world of drones, so we believe there is an aspect of this technology that will strike a chord with everyone. Through activities as diverse as aerial survey, obstacle courses, parcel delivery, creative art, and synchronised dance, drones are so much fun that you forget you are even learning.
